Primarily self-taught in fine art, Nikki has been creating since childhood. She explores the realms of pen and ink drawing, painting, digital illustration and sculpture with unbridled joy and keeps discovering that there are far too many interesting art mediums to contain herself to just one. With over fifteen years of commission art experience Nikki's style continues to evolve with every project.
Working professionally in graphic design since 2009, Nikki expanded on her self-teaching and completed a Diploma of Graphic Design in December 2012. She was honoured to receive the Industry Choice Award for exceptional performance in graphic design. Working with a variety of outstanding and influential Australian businesses, including Gold Coast Tourism, Australian Property Investor Magazine, Australian Birdkeeper Magazine, Auspac Media, Positive Threads, Mission Educate and In-Front Media, Nikki has been fortunate to see her work displayed throughout Australia, South Africa and over the world wide web.
She has experimented in drawing, sculpture, graphic design and handmade commission crafts work; working in pen, ink, graphite, polymer clay, mixed media, Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop and any other materials she can get her hands on.
I often wonder if I'll ever settle down with just one medium, but I've come to the conclusion that I'm just not a monogamous artist.
I am influenced by nature, history, mythology and daydreams. My studio is filled with family, books, animals and treasures - all the things that hold beautiful memories and are a source of endless wonder.
In addition to being a working artist, I am married with two children and an intense desire to bring the imagined to life.
